Aprons and Baking Cookies...or Not!
Some of my favorite childhood memories are of my mother in the kitchen... in her apron... baking cookies. It seemed that she baked cookies every day! I would walk into the front door after school and head straight for the kitchen, where she would be taking the snickerdoodles or chocolate chip or peanut butter cookies... from the oven. We would share a glass of milk and warm cookies and everything felt better!
Of course, during the 1950's and 1960's aprons were a staple of every mother and grandmother that I knew. They were a bit "out of fashion" for a while, but today aprons have emerged as fun, flirty and fabulous...and they are not all for cooking! There are a lot of companies making wonderful aprons, but we particularly love those by Heavenly Hostess.
Cynthia Wadell, designer and owner, has created very chic reversible cotton halter aprons that are functional and fit a woman beautifully. And her cocktail aprons are perfect for greeting your guests at the door, if not necessarily for cooking. These aprons are guaranteed to generate a smile and instant conversation! A perfect way to start a party, no matter who cooked!
