A New Christmas Tablecloth!

As you might suspect, I love setting a beautiful table which includes a beautiful tablecloth.  This year a new dining room table and black upholstered chairs seemed to call out for new Christmas tablecloth.  I chose Garnier Thiebaut Christmas Cherry.  It is bright, bold but quite elegant. This tablecloth will provide the backdrop for my Christmas table.

Tablecloth size is always a question when you have extensions for your table.  For this cloth, I purchased the 69" x 144" which will work well when my table is extended to 120", comfortably seating 10, but we can squeeze 11 or 12.  If I only have 8 guests, which does not require the extension, I often extend the table anyways for more room...and to use my beautiful tablecloth!

I also love dinnerware.  I have Christmas dinner plates, cups and saucers in a very short-lived but wonderful pattern by Bridget Dobson...Cocky Twos Holiday. They are white porcelain with a black rim decorated with white Cockatoos with bright red scarves and vines of everygreen.  I have been unable to find any place to purchase additional pieces to this pattern.

This year I  supplemented my Christmas dinnerware with a delightful Fitz and Floyd pattern from 1976...Holly Wreath, which I purchased from Replacements.com. The dinner plates, cups and saucers arrived yesterday.  The dinner plates are only 10" instead of 11", but with my red glass chargers, they look fabulous next to my Cocky Twos Holiday.

I will use my favorite Royal Scot Society Black Water Goblets and napkin rings that I have collected over the years, enameled gift packages and Christmas trees and golden bells which actually jingle.  An essential party of every holiday dinner at my house are Place Tiles, which my grandchildren love to complete!

I am excited about my Christmas table, however, I know that next year I may go in an entirely different direction!

Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season!
